The firm Boscolo Bertolin, specialised in growing and processing white asparagus, is in San Giovanni di Casarsa in the hamlet of Versutta (well-known for its little fourteenth-century church decorated with prestigious frescoes from the Bolognese and Florentine schools), in the heart of the fertile countryside around Pordenone.
The firm was established in 1885 by the great-grandfather of the family that has taken care of it down to the current owner, Beppino, who in the last forty years has specialised in growing white asparagus, following the traditions and teachings of the earlier generations.
Even today, respect for nature and its seasons, love for the land and for cultivating it, combined with continued experimenting and the use of new techniques and tools, are the foundations underlying the success of this activity and of its produce.
